006 [Action/Audio]
[Action: Locked to Souji Okita]
[Consciousness crept upon him slowly, like a migraine. It slipped in through the window panels with the sun and stung his eyes, but for once Cliff did not want to awaken. He instead rolled over with a groan, burying his face under his arms and promising himself another ten minutes.
But a nagging sensation in the back of his mind kept sleep at bay. He knew in his gut that it was something important, something that was blue and white...
...Fayt.
His eyes snapped open as he crashed into the memories. The dogs and the cultists were all a blur, but the spear stood out in his mind. It was only when he sat up that he registered the not-entirely familiar surroundings and the warm body lying by his side.]
[Action: Locked to Fayt Leingod]
[He messed up, and there was no way to fix and forget about the mess that he had left for everyone to deal with in the battlefield that was once Zompania. It was afternoon by the time he returned to his apartment in the ground building, wearing a fresh set of denim jeans and a comfortable tee-- both of which fit because of some miracle. The dark shades he wore were new, as was he bag he carried by his side that contained the clothes he borrowed off of Souji and yet another set of loose white pants to add to his small collection.
Entering as quietly as he could manage, Cliff did a once-over of the apartment to make sure that things were still mostly as he left it. The Vac whirred and hummed patiently as it made a pass over the carpet, and Cliff found himself smiling.
At least that was still functioning.
After throwing his belongings into his room, he made for Fayt's. A quiet knock was the only warning he gave before he nudged the door open...]
[Audio: Open to All]
Yo. It's Cliff.
[It was dark by the time he reached for his journal, but he didn't care. There were plenty of other people that he wanted to see, but there was no way he could go visit them all in one day.
This was the next best thing.]
Can I get a headcount of who all's here and a tally on the damage? And, is the bar open?
[He'll be heading there later if he get's confirmation. For once, he plans to drink unil the damage doesn't look so bad.]

You missed it by a month-- now, would ya can it already? If you want the science major, go to Fayt. I'm just looking for a way to not miss the target here.
[Video] Private
Either way, good luck with that. I'd suggest investing in a strap for your glasses if you plan on fighting with them on. [Another small chuckle. How do you even fight in glasses anyway.]
[Video] Private
[He knew that was no excuse, but he was still playing catch-up.]
The glasses might not even be a thing, I don't know. It all seems to focus 'round the one eye, not both. I'll figure something out.
[Video] Private
You'd better figure something out. Maybe next time you'll be able to keep an eye out to stay alive. Or, perhaps you won't.
[Video] Private
The plan is to avoid that situation in the future. We've gotta get smarter and stronger before the next time comes, and it's gettin' more and more clear that I should try out a few other things. What I do just ain't enough to hack it without a team.
[Video] Private
[Video] Private
Yeah-- I know I goofed. We're used to working on a three-man team, and we got separated from Souji. Frankly, we're both kinda spoiled, and it's something I plan to fix before we have another problem.
[Video] Private
[Video] Private
sheesh....
[Video] Private
[He folds his arms, glaring at Cliff.]
[Video] Private
Alright. What do you have to suggest?
[Vegeta was the only person he could think of going to in this bubble for any kind of instruction as it stood, but right now was not the time to go making requests like that.]
[Video] Private
[Video] Private
but Vegeta's words still bothered him.]
I can</i fight for myself-- but, what, did you expect me to let Fayt get himself killed back there!?
[Video] Private
[Video] Private
Then I guess I'm just not as clear headed as you are.
[He admitted, still frowning. Fayt had become many things to Cliff since they met eachother on that underdeveloped little planet in the Vanguard system. While at first Cliff was simply his abductor, and then bodyguard...they had become friends as time passed. And, because of the strange Shifts of this world, there was still a little part of Cliff that insisted on Fayt being something akin to a younger brother or even son that he had never had...]
Unlike you, I can't leave someone I'm fond of in danger like that, not if i can do something about it.
[Video] Private
[As much of a hypocrite as he's being, he won't budge on this point.]
[Video] Private
[Video] Private
Either way. You better think of something so you don't run into that problem again.
[Video] Private
[Cliff sighed, swallowing his pride and admitting defeat at this point.]
I was hoping I could work more with you. There's not many others 'round here who'd be able to teach me much anything, except you and your friends.
[Video] Private
[Video] Private
....Uh. Right on both counts. Not for lack of trying.
[That beam thingy...it didn't exactly come naturally to him.]
[Video] Private
You didn't train at all, do I look stupid to you?
[Video] Private
Yeah. I know I goofed on that front too, no excuses. It was my bad for not taking this place seriously enough.
[Someone in the company must have liked him-- even with all of the fiascos, things had been relatively easy for him over the last year and a half. He shouldn't have under estimated this place.]
[Video] Private
[Nazi Vegeta mode is a go.]
Prove to me that you're going to put forth an effort and I'll think about it.
[Video] Private
Cliff scratched.]
All right-- alright. What do ya need me to do?
