Yo. Everyone.
[It was midday that he addressed the village as a whole, without any lead-in or hint of apology in his tone for being so goddamn casual.]
I'm lookin' for a friend of mine. He's got long hair and has a pet pig-- lemme know if you see him.
[Action]
[It was training, Souji had been insisting for the last few weeks when he set an enraged, squealing Saizou upon him without any warning. Speed training for a little game between the two of them that they both had a stake in. And, finally-- after many days of running from the grumpy little pig-- the game was on.
Cliff had 24 hours to catch Souji. Truth be told, he had no idea what the little prankster was up to.
He'll be anywhere and everywhere around town that day, searching every corner and under every table for any hint of that teasing smile...all the while remaining on high alert for anything that would attempt to dive-bomb him.]

...A tooth is outta the question, and hair just seems weird.
[He liked his friend's smile too much, and this chase was already making him look like a stalker. Gathering more evidence to support that was out of the question.]
...
Do ya think a pillow would work?

Sorry that I can't really help much outside of a tracking spell. Any tracking outside of magic isn't really my thing. [Essentially she's saying she's sorta useless in that area unless she gets lucky.]
[Action]
[However, the fact that this stranger even tried was good enough in his book.]
If we were back home doing this, I'd have no trouble. It's pretty normal to carry a few pieces of tech around no matter where you go...but, they don't work right here.
[Action]
She gave Cliff a bit of a confused look though.] Why don't they work?
[Action]
It's the shifts all over the place, [he said, pulling out the quad scanner that he liked to keep on hand just for the off chance that he could use it. Switching it on, he passed it off for the stranger to look at.] They muck up the readings. Everything's off the charts.
[Action]
By the archmages... Well I can certainly see what you mean. [Quite literally in fact.]
There goes a bit of hope that any tech that might pop up from where I'm from will work here.
[Action]
[Cliff shut the scanner down and pocketed it, glad that he happened to find a fellow tech-savvy individual in town.]
Simple things like toasters and automated vacuums work, and I think some simple radios will work if they share a frequency. But, anything more complicated than that is gonna be outta the question.
[Action]
Those are hard to come by sometimes. [For a space pirate at least.]

[Action]
Unless the people you know can construct firearms that are able to handle high levels of energy being pumped into them, then I'd definitely would love to be introduced to them.
[Action]
Are you talking about something along the lines of a photonic blaster? If I had the right parts I might be able to make something for you...
But. Hm. We never thought of adding Symbols to a blaster before.
[Action]
[Action]
Don't worry, that won't happen. Not on my watch.
[Action]
That's great to hear, and uh, if you do actually end up making this for me in the end, I'll have to repay you somehow! [She didn't really have much to offer, but she might think of something.]
So, thanks, uh... Oh, I don't think I've caught your name yet.
[Action]
[He didn't care about whether he got paid or not, because actually doing something practical was payment enough. The only problem was supplies-- he didn't know what was available on hand in the smithy at the moment.]
[Action]
Oh, the name's Karis by the way. [Might as well get that out of the way while she had the chance.]
[Action]
[However, he still couldn't tell the stranger's gender-- the name sounded like it was on the more feminine side of neutral, but so did names like 'Alexis'.
No matter-- the truth will reveal itself in time.]
It's nice meeting you. We'll need to talk more about the kinda gun you're looking for before we get to it...but we'll need a rain check on that. I've got a deadline right now.
[Action]
Oh, right! You're looking for someone. [She gave him a sheepish smile, feeling a bit bad for keeping him.] Though I didn't think you'd have a deadline on that sort of thing.
[Action]
[Action]
Though I do wish you luck! Sorry again that I can't really help you look for him with the tracking spell.
[Action]
Thanks. I'm gonna need it. [He grinned, clearly not as worried about the consequences as he ought to be.] We'll talk later. See ya, Karis!
