[Voice]
...Vacations are funny, aren't they? If they last long enough, they can start to get kinda boring.
[The commentary filtered through the pages of the journal system around midday, as if it was just a part of a conversation between two individuals instead of a public address. Cliff's tone was as relaxed and casual as always, for those who knew him. There was a faint hum in the otherwise quiet background.]
I mean, the downtime is nice, but I'm kinda tired of it-- which should answer any questions about 'why' and what not, so don't bother askin'.
The name's Cliff Fittir, if any of you here don't know, and I figured I'd offer my services. If any of you want a sparring partner, trainer, teacher or whatever, I'm available. Just say something if you're interested.
And if you're not...then could ya tell me what this cool thing is?
[He flipped the video on at this point, revealing a small circular device methodically rolling across the carpet.]
I've got an idea already, which brings me to Question Two: Is there a way to get good tech supplies without needing to go outside?
[He ends the feed at that, but will be prompt with replies.]
[Action]
[Cliff set off about town, looking for the aforementioned tech supplies so he could properly play with his new toy, though he would be keeping his eyes and ears alert for any of his friends and students to check up on. After a several week absence followed by a Shift that had made him appear as a young woman, there hadn't been much chance to see his people without having to answer more questions than he wanted. Furthermore, there were people that he met during that Shift that he wanted to clear things up with, one way or another.
However, he had plans for that evening...]
[Action: Private for Fayt Leingod]
Yo. You better have some free time tonight.
[He had questions...but, more importantly, he had plans for both of them.]

[Cliff wasn't complaining about it either-- a part of him was grateful that Luceti hadn't changed any of them too drastically yet. Then again, there was always reason to be grateful for
relativelypeaceful times.][action]
[action]
Welp, [he said, slowing down as they came upon Good Spirits.] we're here. You ready to go break a few laws?
[action]
[He's pretty sure they've broken at least two dozen federation laws, Drinking underage is hardly a drop in the bucket.]
[action]
Just wanted to check what you're up for. I ain't gonna push you or anything on this one.
Re: [action]

[Cliff led the way inside, holding the door open for Fayt before finding them a comfy spot to sit that happened to have a little discretion. While this was a celebration of sorts, Cliff had a hunch other topics would pop up.]
There's nothing too fancy on the menu here, but what we've got is top notch. [He passed a menu over to Fayt as he spoke.] I'm sure you'll find something you like.
[action]
The drinks, however...] Uh... I don't really know what kind of alcoholic drinks taste good. Mind helping me out?
[action]
There's a lot to pick from, but we're not gonna know what you like until we try something. Let's just start off with a couple beers and see how it goes?
[action]
[action]
Always is. There's no reason to overdo anything right now...but, enough of that.
[Sobering, he leveled his gaze on Fayt.]
How are ya doing today? You had me a little worried there, the other night.
[action]
Sorry about that. I would have explained more, but I was nearly asleep on my feet that night. But aside from being a bit sore, I'm fine now. [Sore and with a few small injuries, but it was no big deal. A little symbology everyday was healing them right up.]
[action]
and his subsequent scrubbing of the data on file, Cliff suspected that 'a bit sore' was an understatement. His own haphazard spars with Vegeta left him with more bruises than he cared to count, and that wasn't even factoring in the times that the Saiyan rained blasts of pure ki upon him.]It's fine. You had your reasons. [And they were very good ones too.] It's just been a long time since any of us were beat up like that. I was wondering if he was going too far.
[action]
I think I called my power that time. But I channeled it through my sword.
[action]
...You did, huh?
[It made sense, in a way. Fayt's destructive powers were beyond anything he could imagine, but he was still a realistic and responsible guy. Of course he would end up using his sword for this.]
[action]
I'm pretty sure normal symbology can't cut one of Vegeta's energy blasts in half. [And it hadn't felt exactly the same as when he imbued his sword with symbological power normally, but it was close enough in some ways.]
[action]
Holy crap, man. You cut them?
[He hadn't realized that anything could. Those blasts were immense, and the ones Cliff had faced were mild.]
[action]
...He still wasn't sure. His voice is quiet, pensive when he tries to describe it.]
I don't think I cut it... not in the physical sense. It just... pulled energy away from it, somehow....? It's hard to describe.
[He'd only had a few seconds to try to focus on what he felt before passing out. The second he'd done it his head felt like it was going to explode.] But it exploded around me, not on me.
[action]
[Drawing energy away from or dispelling it in a different direction, it all amounted to the same outcome.]
It sure sounds like cutting, anyway. Do you, uh...[There was no easy way to word his next question.] What all do you remember?
[action]
It.... felt kind of like symbology normally does, but stronger... way stronger. [Instead of that slightly electric, warm feeling, it was more of a burning sensation, rising up and making his head feel like it was going to explode in a bloody mess all over the battledome.] Felt like my head was going to explode. It was like I was using myself as a symbol to channel through.
[action]
[The Symbols were inscribed on his very DNA, afterall-- Cliff was inclined to trust the data they had found on Moonbase, after everything they had seen and experienced. There was no reason to believe otherwise.
But, the explanation did offer a few openings for further sessions in the future.]
[action]
Still, it was one thing to hear it and another thing to feel it.]
I just hope it doesn't feel like that every time.
[action]
[She was always so strong in her own right-- it was part of why this was hard, as he had nothing to share.]
But, maybe if we can find a way to do this without you nearly dying on us, we could maybe fix some of that problem too.
[action]
I just have to keep trying and see what works. At least I have a lead now.
