[Action: Locked to Fayt Leingod and (maybe) Albel Nox]
[It was cold.
Cliff shifted under the blankets and stretched his legs, not caring about anything but the familiar knitted sheets that touched his bare skin and the familiar scent of what he knew was his apartment in town. It was simple. It was a taste of the freedom he would grab once he slept off his aching muscles and refreshed his weary mind.
For the moment he just wanted to appreciate the warmth. He didn't remember the beds being this comfortable...]
[Action: Open]
[People in town might notice an unfamiliar young woman wandering about the shops that afternoon in search of something that fitted better than the oversized leather bomber jacket and heavy boots that covered her thin white dress. Her striking blue hair and green eyes bore a startling resemblence to another young man, Fayt Leingod-- but, that had to be coincidence.
Passers by might even find her asking them a simple question in a tone that hinted at her contained frustration:]

Hey. Could ya gimme a hand for a minute?
[Clearly, she wasn't used to asking for this sort of help.
Later on, a quick message in a familiar hand is scrawled out in the journals for everyone to read:]

Cliff was knocked out of the floating, blissful twilight of dreams when he felt someone wrap their arms around him. He tossed his hair from his face -- when did it get so long ? -- and squirmed around to shoot the offender a sharp glare in his irritation...
And paused when he caught sight of that familiar blue hair.]
[All accusations were silenced by the stunned disbelief that took over. Warily, Cliff reached out to poke Fayt. Just to be sure.]
Uh. Hey.
[action]
The familiar face in his bed.
....The Malnosso had a weird sense of humor.]
.....Maria?
[action]
...
Uh. No...
[Cliff stared, brows furrowed in his confusion as he gingerly pulled a lock of the strangely long hair into view, just to double check. Sure enough, it was blue.
A sigh. He released the strands and let them fall in his face.]
...Lemme take a guess. I look like her, don't I?
Re: [action]
He only knew one person who talked like that.
Oh, the Malnosso really did have a horrible sense of humor.]
Cliff?
[action]
Calm down, would ya?
[He shook his head and flopped back down into the pillows, closing his eyes to block out the unsettling sight of Fayt's surprise.]
Gaahh~
This is one helluva thing, huh?
[action]
You're telling me.... You've been gone a month and come back like this? [Running a hand through his hair, he sits up on the bed, crossing his legs as he does.]
This is like a really bad joke.
[action]
Like a really bad joke? Please.
[Cliff opened an eye and peeked up at Fayt, ignoring all punchlines that the Malnosso wanted him to see and choosing to roll on with things. There was no point in worrying over what he couldn't change.]
...Was it really a month? Weird. It felt like longer.
[action]
They sure kept you a long time though. Did you at least give them trouble?
[action]
I broke a few 'a their toys and made a mess 'a things. That might be why they kept me for so long.
[Headscratch. Cliff tangled his fingers in the long hair and pulled it forward to take another look.]
...Anything big happen while I was out?
Re: [action]
His question, though, causes that grin to fade slightly. Right...] Nel's gone. Found her apartment empty a few days ago.
[action]
[The door to the bedroom suddenly banged open, revealing Albel on the other side. A certain blue haired maggot had been extra clingy as of late, and if he was going to be like that, then he was going to get shit done. Like training, or getting his sarong fixed, like what he planned to do right now.]
[Except for... well... thaaaaat...]
[Albel stared awkwardly at two blue haired fools on the bed... before quickly shutting the door again.]
[action]
She is, huh? I guess it was only a matter of time--
[The pensive moment was broken by Albel's sudden intrusion and wordless exit. Cliff stared at the door, but was glad for the distraction.]
What's up with Grumpy?
Re: [action]
[He didn't have a clue what Albel's current malfunction was. So...]
Hey Albel! Cliff's back!
[Raising his voice, he calls out, hoping he was still here.]
[action]
Oh, good. Where is the fool?
[action]
I'm right here. Where else did you expect me to be?
Re: [action]
[action]
...this is ridiculous.
[action]
Yeah? You're tellin' me.
['Ridiculous' wasn't even the word that Cliff would have chosen himself for the bizarre situation. 'Stupid' or 'annoying' would have worked better in his opinion, but the last several weeks in the hands of those scientists had taught him that this world didn't care about his opinions.
He sat up and gathered the blankets up around the slender frame of the body he suddenly found himself in, both to preserve a degree of
his daughter'smodesty and fend off the chill while he looked around the suddenly unfamiliar surroundings.]...Somehow I'm getting the feeling that this ain't the same Luceti. What else happened?
Re: [action]
[action]
[The door banged open, Albel giving them both a determined glare. After a moment, he stormed over to the bed, grabbing Fayt by the arm and dragging him out of bed.]
You--! [He jabbed a clawed finger toward Cliff.] --are getting dressed before this conversation continues.
[action]
[Cliff stared in numb shock at Albel's sudden outburst, and a moment passed before the exact nature of the words sank in.]
Wha--What?!
[Flushing furiously, Cliff pulled the blanket up closer before he continued.]
I am dressed-- Why do you care?!
[action]
Alright, ignoring that thought for a second.] I know the dress is thin, but it's just Cliff!
[Though..... Cliff's own clothes definitely wouldn't fit Maria's body.] Uh... he is right about you needing new clothes, though.
[action]
[He would know, and don't either of you dare argue with him. He may be an ass, but he does have some chivalry.]
[He yanked Fayt around, damn near shoving him out the door.]
At least attempt to find something solid to wear. We'll return later.
[action]
Something 'solid'?!
[Cliff shuffled out of bed, now tangled in the pile of blankets as he made to follow.]
C'mon! You know there's nothing in this place!
[Between Fayt and Cliff's closets, they were lacking in clothing that was would even fit a young woman. What the hell was Albel thinking...?]
[action]
[Nothing in Fayt's closet will fit, but it at least wouldn't be too outrageously big, just long and a bit larger than would look right on a figure like Maria's.]
