[Action: Locked to Fayt Leingod and (maybe) Albel Nox]

[It was cold.

Cliff shifted under the blankets and stretched his legs, not caring about anything but the familiar knitted sheets that touched his bare skin and the familiar scent of what he knew was his apartment in town. It was simple. It was a taste of the freedom he would grab once he slept off his aching muscles and refreshed his weary mind.

For the moment he just wanted to appreciate the warmth. He didn't remember the beds being this comfortable...]

[People in town might notice an unfamiliar young woman wandering about the shops that afternoon in search of something that fitted better than the oversized leather bomber jacket and heavy boots that covered her thin white dress. Her striking blue hair and green eyes bore a startling resemblence to another young man, Fayt Leingod-- but, that had to be coincidence.

Passers by might even find her asking them a simple question in a tone that hinted at her contained frustration:]

Hey. Could ya gimme a hand for a minute?

[Clearly, she wasn't used to asking for this sort of help.

Later on, a quick message in a familiar hand is scrawled out in the journals for everyone to read:]

[Cliff arrived not long after, wearing the scattered assortment of clothes that he had found that afternoon. They covered him and mostly fit, which was what truly mattered, but even a laid back guy like him didn't relish the thought of looking a kid that went dumpster diving behind a thrift shop.

The slim, blue haired figure waved when they drew near.]

Hey, Rei. 'Sup?

[Rei waved and gave him a nod.]

Waiting on you, as usual. But you look good, at least.

Haha-- I try. I've got a decent eye for lines and colors, at least.

[He grinned.]

You look like you've held up alright while I was out.

[Albel raised an eyebrow at that.]

What are you implying, fool?

Like what? I don't think so... [He still wasn't exactly going to admit his recent difficulties with this shift.]

[Headscratch.]

Oh, I dunno. Might be nothing.

[The tension in the air was making him uncomfortable.]

[Albel glared, having a feeling he knew what Cliff was getting at, and silently promising he'd gut him if he was ever stupid enough to say as much. Finally, he let out an annoyed noise, turning to leave the apartment.]

Let's get this over with.

Well, you act as if they aren't taking you seriously simply because you are currently female. [Which may be the case, but he has to take a jab there.] As far as I'm concerned, the shoe is now on the other foot. Possibly karma finally having its way with you for that little undergarment episode you and I had several months back.

[Shrugging, he'll keep talking so he doesn't give Cliff room to interrupt him.] Besides. When I was transformed, I retained all of my abilities. If that's the case for you, why don't you teach those ingrates a little lesson if they're going to snub you like that.

[Fayt glances from Cliff to Albel, curious. What the heck.....?

He made a mental note to ask Cliff about whatever was going on later.] Yeah, let's go.

[She snorts a laugh and heads inside]

Of course I have. I can take care of myself, you know.

[Cliff stared at Vegeta, not at all surprised by the other man's suggestion of using violence for a reason that was as petty as securing his reputation.]

Didn't we talk before about how using fists in diplomacy doesn't always work?

[A lazy, almost nonchalant shrug. He only called things as he saw them.]

[He followed, glad to get out of the cold.]

That was never a question. You're strong, but this place is weird.

Well it's been quiet, really. Nothing crazy happening, and we're getting close to a big holiday. So, I imagine they're saving up some insanity.

Yes. But sometimes a well placed punch gets the message across just fine. [Cliff's talking on an individual level here (sort of, at least that's the way he's taking it). He doesn't see the problem with punching someone out.]

[Albel spared the now female ape another glare, before storming out of the apartment. He was... just going to put Cliff's damn implications out of his head. Stupid, irritating...]

Y-yeah, but you didn't say that the damned Malnosso changed your gender. That's a bit more than just lookin' differently, man.

[Although, the super relaxed way the "girl" handled herself made more sense. And, put Kanji at ease for some reason. Dudes he could handle. Girls just made him pretty fucking awkward. And he couldn't help that. At all.]

It is for me! Lost memories I can take. This [he waves his hand a bit] is outside the norm for me, okay?

[Fayt stares after Albel for a moment before turning back to Cliff with a shrug, as if to say 'Who knows?'. But after that he makes his own way out, trailing after Albel at a calmer pace and heading out of the apartment and down the stairs into the street.]

Ah. Right, it's that one winter holiday, isn't it? Christmas?

[It was still early enough in the winter, by his count. The holiday was a good bet.]

[A sigh. Cliff ran a hand through the long blue hair, idly wishing for a hair tie to pull it back with as he did so.]

Depends on the person and the problem. This ain't worth flipping a table over.

[Hands on hips and shoulders thrown back, Cliff regarded the younger man with eyes that glittered with his irritation. Unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as intimidating a stance as it would have been were he not Shifted.]

You think it is for me? [A huff. Seriously...] It's hard enough to manage without getting fed up. I just know that I'm glad to be a person and not, say, a cat. That can happen too, yanno.

[Cliff trailed behind, jacket fully zipped and furred collar turned up against the cold as he shuffled about in his now-too-large boots. Apartment and Shift aside, at least the two of them were still familiar-- it was a good thing, even if Albel was frustrating.]

So. [Cliff chimed up as they entered the street,] did I miss anything while I was out?

Yes, it is. It's one of the more important ones. Hopefully it won't be too interfered with. I have plans for a change.

So it's one of your's too, huh? [He shot her a sly, teasing grin.] You got plans with that girl you like?

Did I say anything about flipping any tables? Now I think you're the one taking it too far. Besides, I thought knocking a few heads together was your specialty?
