[The words, made audible through an accidental feed on the journal that Cliff threw aside, were cut off by the crack of splintering wood as his fist slammed into it at full throttle. Cliff had finally awoken from his shift-induced dream, and he was pissed. It was just unfortunate that the first person he saw that morning had to be the target for his frustration at the Malnosso.

He was going to crush their captors...after he crushed Albel Nox.

It wasn't going to be pretty.]

Sorry 'bout the mess this morning. Technical difficulties. Won't happen again.

Now. What the hell was that last week? A shift? That's one helluva-- [He stopped and took a deep, calming breath.] Don't tell me that happens all the time.

I'm more than game if anyone wants to work off some stress. See ya at the Barracks. Or the Dome. I dunno.

[True to his word, Cliff could be found at both the Barracks and the Battle Dome at various points throughout the day, as he restlessly wandered between the two facilities because neither actually fit his needs for the moment. A good spar was what he had in mind, although he wouldn't say no to company with someone that didn't know him and was actually sane.

Don't worry. He'll be cool.]

[The Spartan turns to the other threat, moving away and clearly preparing to attack. Without her armor and a later than usual new feather, she's not as prepared.

She changes target -- she releases Cliff and tries to grab Albel by his foot. There's something she learned - powerful weapon or no, losing your stance means defeat.

If she succeeds, she'll be dropping Albel to the ground and try to hold the offending arm.]

Stand down, you two! Now.

[Cliff took advantage of the girl's move on Albel at the very moment he was released and withdrew from the melee, as much as it left the bitter taste of displeasure in his mouth. He stood and regarded her in his barely suppressed wrath...but didn't attack.

He cracked his knuckles instead.]

Missie. Get outta here. This ain't your fight.

[Albel only just barely manages to avoid being grabbed, only through his sheer nimble-footedness. That said, though, it's a very close call and it throws off his balance, making him practically dance further out of reach of the woman (who is way too tall what is this even).]

For once, the maggot is right. Stay out of this, fool.

I live in this housing building. You're wrong if you two think it doesn't.

[She remains in a combative stance. She notices immediately the first threat had not attacked -- the other stays too far from her.]

[Although he made no move to attack, Cliff stayed his ground. This girl...this inordinantly tall girl was more than just a concerned neighbor. She had training of some sort.

His eyes locked onto Albel for a second, as if to ask if Albel was game for another round, but his manner maintained that predatory stillness.]

It's still not your deal, even if you're a neighbor. He and I have something to settle here.

[Albel has also spotted that this neighbor of theirs is not a force to be trifled with, but that doesn't mean he's standing down, either. He blows out a frustrated sigh, tosses an errant braid back over his shoulder with a jerk of the head, and scowls at her.]

The oaf is right. No one else need be hurt. But if you get in my way, I will cut you down.

[He's not out for the neighbors' blood. Only Cliff's. The buildings fix themselves here anyway, no harm done if they knock out half the walls.]

[She can't leave. Albel's threat reaches her as effectively as as if it had come from a Covenant Zealot with an anti-matériel round going to its' brain, but out of armor and with an occupied building, Spartan philosophy of peace through power will not work here. What would Adell and John do?

What would Charlotte do?]

If you think me leaving is going to stop other people from getting hurt, neither of you have any concept of collateral damage, less so inside of a building. And if you're the powerhouse types? You should know there are support pillars and walls you could break in the middle of the fight.

[Right now, Daisy still wished she had Charlotte's power to tame even the fiercest beasts with a smile.]

Even if you kill someone here, all you'll get is a person back within a week and people that will be pissed off at what you did. If you two hate yourselves that much, then just walk away from eachother and save yourselves from a trip to the hospital or a new feather dress.

[There were no threats on Cliff's part, but he didn't back down at her words.]

We've no intent to bring anyone else into this, Missie. Why d'ya thing we're headed for the stairs?

Besides. Word is that the buildings fix themselves. We've got this.

[This is the face of a man who is completely unimpressed. And also unapologetic.]

All I'm hearing is that all the possible damage we could do will just be undone in a short period of time. But if you're so concerned - [Yes, Albel, sneering at the giant woman is a great idea.] - then we'll take it outside. Step aside, worm, and we'll leave.

--Possible damage to the buildings. Whatever you do to yourselves and to others will last.

[She tries to channel John's serenity. A difficult task now.]

Nothing will change if either of you fight. There will still be a village, and you will still be within vicinity of each-other.

[Suddenly, she comes to think of the situation Luke once told him about -- what if a Covenant Elite ever arrived in here.]

You either fight senselessly and lose health and powers senselessly, or you ignore eachother.

[Cliff scratched his head thoughtfully as he considered this girl's words. There was a point there, and a damn good one, but there was something else...]

Ya know, Albel? I don't think she gets it.

[There would probably be a point in all that if it weren't for the fact that this isn't so much a fight with a purpose as it is a grudge match. They're fighting because they're in one another's vicinity. Among other things, of course, but Albel can't just let Cliff exist in his general vicinity without challenging him for it. It's kind of what they've been doing ever since they first laid eyes on each other.

And so Albel gives an eyeroll and shrugs his good shoulder to confirm Cliff's opinion. For once, they can agree.]

Listen, woman. We have no intention of destroying your precious buildings or the villagers. That would be sloppy. But there is no ignoring. There will be no walking away.

[His grin was slow and lazy, like that of a man after a good day on the surf...or a confident brawler. Their fight was nothing more than the standard, and they both knew on some level that they wouldn't die. They were assets on the field that were too valuable to break, if the war between Aeriglyph and Aquaria proved anything.

Not that it would stop them from trying.

Cliff cracked his knuckles and decided to ignore the girl. Their point was made...and time out was over.]

Hey. Grumpy. Heads up!

[He took the lead again, attempting to completely bypass the girl and deliver a punch to his supposed 'rival'.]

[Albel was wondering how long Cliff would be able to stand still. It doesn't surprise him much that it isn't long. Albel ducks neatly underneath the punch and comes back up, claw swinging. Cliff is a little too close to draw the Crimson Scourge without disemboweling him... which would ruin half the fun.

But, true to their word, Albel does hop back to lure Cliff to the stairs. Time to go outside. And then try to destroy each other.

Sorry, Daisy, the moment has passed.]

[The moment had passed indeed. But all this fighting had probably woken everyone within hearing distance, and Fayt?

Fayt was one of those people they had rather rudely awaken. Just a bit on the grouchy side and fully aware of what probably awaited him outside the front door of the apartment, he decides to grab his sword on the way out.... just in case there was need to break them up with more then words.

Just as the fighting starts up again, there's a teenage boy with rather ruffled bedhead standing in the door, looking very much like he just threw his clothes on, and giving the brawling duo an acidic look. All in all, it's probably a somewhat comical sight... well, if you were discounting the sword.] What the heck are you two doing?!

[Not like he didn't already know, but come on.]

[Cliff brings himself to a halt at the sound of Fayt's voice...barely. The mere thought of punching that grin off of Albel's face was as tantaizing a draw as it had been in Kirlsa, and continued to be, but that rivalry was lower on the list of priorities for him. But, it wasn't low enough for him to give up on it that easily.

Instead of immediately diving into a charge, he flashed Fayt a grin.]

[--explanations and complaints would come later. This wasn't true bloodlust any longer, but a continuation of the little dance that they always found themselves in.]

[Albel paused as well, shooting a look of equal irritation back at Fayt. Yes, he respected the boy enough not to keep fighting right away, but Albel wasn't terribly amused with all of these interruptions.]

I would think it would be obvious.

[He had a sword in his hand and Cliff had his fists up. There wasn't all that much left to the imagination.]

Of course it's obvious. I wouldn't be surprised if you woke the whole building trying to bash each other's brains out. [Eh. At least it looked like they both weren't as bad off as he thought they would be.... then again, who knew how long they had been fighting. Maybe they had already blown off some steam.]

You guys do realize you can put that frustration to better use, right?

[Although the little skirmish had helped him cool off, it still wasn't near enough. There was a score to settle between the two of them...and, beside that, neither of them would really kill eachother.

They'd be out a good sparring partner.]
